The Sabri Brothers
The Sabri Brothers are long-established as Pakistan's best-loved Qawwali ensemble. Their direct, magnetic presence combines with a raw, energetic vocal style to make their performances a unique musical experience. The ensemble is led by the soaring voices of the four Sabri Brothers, backed by five instrumental accompanists on harmonium and percussion. The musical lineage of the two leaders of the group, Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri and Haji Maqbool Sabri, stretches back through many generations of famous musicians. 'Ya Habib' was recorded in live performance with all the flourish and humour with which The Sabri Brothers always entertain their guests.
